Ceramic balloons from Puglia are among the most original and cheerful expressions of the craftsmanship of Grottaglie. Hand-glazed and bursting with colour, they are perfect to hang on the wall as decoration or to give as favours for weddings, baptisms and confirmations.

Every ceramic balloon is wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, the fruit of a centuries-old tradition passed down from generation to generation. You will never find two that are identical. Whether you are looking for a single piece for your home, an authentic souvenir of Puglia or an original party favour, you are in the right place.

Important, please read before ordering. Every balloon is handmade from start to finish by a ceramic craftsman. If the piece in the colour or size you want is not ready when you order, it is made specially for you: that is the nature of a handmade, bespoke object. We always keep you updated on your order by email — “In preparation” if the balloon is ready and is being shipped, “In production” if it is being made for you. In a hurry, or want to know whether it is ready now? Contact us before buying.

Size is measured from the knot to the top of the balloon. Quantity discounts: you see them by selecting the size on the product page, and they are applied automatically in the cart. How to choose your colour

The main colours are on the product page: white, blue, pink, red, green, lime green (verdolino) and vermilion, in all four sizes. To choose from the full colour chart below, or to combine several colours in one order:

How to hang the balloon on the wall

On the back of the balloon, in the slightly flattened part, there is a small hole. All you need is a small nail in the wall: no special fixings, no special tools.

1	Put in a small nail A small nail in the wall, at whatever height you like.
2	Rest the balloon on it Slip the hole on the back over the nail.
3	For extra stability You can use a small L-shaped screw, but it is not necessary.

Gift packaging. You can make the quote yourself by adding sizes and quantities to the cart: the total with discounts is calculated automatically. We only supply the ceramic object, not the preparation of ceremony gift packaging: the balloons are packed for shipping. To give them as gifts there are the recycled cardboard boxes, by size: they arrive flat inside the parcel.

Customisations can be added to the balloons — logos, lettering, initials — from a minimum of 30 pieces.

How is the balloon measured?

The size is the total length of the object, from the knot at the bottom to the top of the balloon.

Are the dimensions precise?

No, and they cannot be: every balloon is handmade. There may be a difference of about 1 cm more or less. It is not a flaw, it is a feature: proof that every piece is unique.

What if the balloon I want is not ready?

It is made for you: wheel-throwing, drying and glazing. Your order moves to the status “In production” and we update you by email. If it is urgent, contact us before buying.

Can I choose colours beyond the main ones?

Yes. Look at the colour chart on this page, add the quantities to the cart and write the colours in the NOTES field at checkout.

Are there other sizes beyond those shown?

All available sizes are in the height menu on the product page.

How do I hang it?

There is a small hole on the back: simply rest it on a small nail in the wall. The nail is not included.

How are they shipped?

Each balloon is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and packed securely in the shipping box.

What if it arrives broken?

In the unfortunate event that a balloon arrives broken, we will send you another one at our expense.

Do you offer gift packaging?

The balloons are packed for shipping, not for ceremony. To give them as gifts there are the recycled cardboard boxes.

Can I add customisations?

Yes, from a minimum of 30 pieces. For the cost and for special lettering or custom work, contact us before ordering.

Can I order large quantities?

Yes. Missing pieces are made specially. Payment is always required in advance. For very large orders, please contact us first.
