The inspiration
Andria, a stone's throw from Castel del Monte
The box is named after Andria, a charming town rich in history in the Alta Murgia, a stone's throw from Castel del Monte. For it we have rediscovered the authentic flavours of Puglia: pasta, tomatoes, vegetable preserves, olives, taralli and traditional sweets.
It is the right box for a Christmas in Apulian style: there is the artisan fig and chocolate panettone from Biscottificio Preite, and a Susumaniello Rosé Brut sparkling wine from Masseria L'Astore for the toast. The triumph of Apulian flavours, all in one box made for the holidays.
Not just food and wine
Three handcrafted pieces to keep at home
The Andria box is not only something to eat. It also holds three small pieces of local craftsmanship, which stay in the house once the food is gone: a terracotta jar of extra virgin olive oil, an Apulian pumo made entirely by hand and a small brown terracotta bowl, 9 cm across.
The oil in the terracotta jar is available in limited quantities: if the jars run out, we put a 500 ml bottle of Primoljo oil (Favololio, PDO or PGI), of similar value in their place. For every other product in the box, if one runs out, we replace it with a similar one of the same value.
